Cycles

Life
that contained ball of energy
stretching for the stars
digging for gold
and warming the Earth

Birth
groping for safety
hugging it close

Childhood
Standing tall
reaching out
like a boomerang

Young Adulthood
Gliding on railroad tracks
with wax bottom shoes
snatching stars
from the sky.

Maturity
Cashing in the pot of gold
climbing the rainbow

Golden Years
grabbing the sunset
hugging it close

Death is
that contained ball of energy
tickling the Earth
with warm golden stardust.
